
Rebecca Rallo is a freelance journalist and communications/event specialist with more than a decade of experience honing her craft.
Rebecca has lived all over the world and has written and edited for countless internationally renowned magazines, newspapers, and websites. She writes on topics ranging from politics and current affairs to fashion and lifestyle. Rebecca has worked as Editor-in-Chief of the number one consumer technology magazine in New Zealand, was recruited to write a chapter for the award-winning and prestigious Insider’s Guide to New Zealand, and was hired as an editor by the CFL in the lead-up to the 2015 Grey Cup. Her writing has been featured on the front page of many newspapers during her time as a reporter, and she has received numerous awards and accolades for her work.
On the communications and marketing front, Rebecca has held several director-level positions including Director of Communications and Public Relations for award-winning Australian couture fashion designer, Jason Chetcuti, and Director of Communications and Marketing for the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba. She worked for two years as one third of Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman’s core communications team, serving as a primary speech writer and digital manager. She has served on several non-profit boards and committees and actively volunteers with a number of community organisations throughout the year.
Rebecca has extensive event management experience, including co-founding the annual Fight for Charity boxing event, which last year raised nearly $45,000 for transitional housing facility Pan Am Place, and working as onsite manager for the global launch of a new product from Peller Estates Winery. She has also been heavily involved in planning of the annual Child Health Research Days conference and the annual Children’s Hospital Foundation Ice Crystal Gala and Teddy Bears’ Picnic. Past event experience includes L’Oréal Fashion Week in Toronto and the RSPCA Million Paws Walk in Australia.
Rebecca’s for-hire services include writing and editing of all kinds (business, personal, creative, academic); resume coaching and writing; communications, marketing, and public relations consulting; and event management.
In her spare time, Rebecca loves to stay active; spend time with her beloved Italian Greyhound, her one-year-old son, and her husband; read; and watch Netflix.
